My Story My name is Jenny Pickard and I am a professional photographer specializing in color and black & white fine art portraiture of children, from newborn to high school seniors. I also photograph expecting mothers, families, and special events including engagements and bridal portraiture. I love chocolate. I am sensitive and sentimental. My most proud achievement is my family. I am married to an awesome guy, Terry, and we have two amazing children, Emma and Will. They are my inspiration and why I love my job! I am often asked about how I found photography. Honestly, photography found me. I wish I could say that I have multiple degrees in Photography, but I chose Elementary Education instead. I loved teaching and all of it's amazing rewards, but after the birth of my daughter, I began seeking out other career options to enable me to be home more often and have a more flexible schedule. Photography has always been a hobby and interest of mine but with the birth of my daughter, came a whole new inspiration. I was humbled and fascinated at how quickly the phases and stages in her life would change. Like all children, they grow so fast, I would try and capture each and every moment on film. In a small way, I had control of stopping time and making it last forever. I have found so much joy in capturing the lives of both my children and the proof lies in the stacks of photos and albums and those images that grace the walls of our home and my soul. It was through other photographers I became inspired to develop my career in photography. Family and friends supported me in pursuing my passion. I started asking lots of questions, sought out mentors and that is when I took the huge leap of faith and officially started Jenny's Photography Studio in 2003. I feel so blessed to have been given this opportunity and gift to capture moments that will touch lives and be cherished for many years to come. I did not get here on my own. My faith, my family, and my friends are how I got here. So many people have influenced my path along the way and to them I will be forever grateful.
